August 6
Venus on the Halfshell 5K Run/Walk
Part of the 7 Sisters of Dewey Beach Run/Walk Series. Out and back course through residential neighborhoods. Dewey Beach, DE.

August 8 - 12
White Marlin Open Fishing Tournament
The world's largest fishing tournament. This marlin fishing tournament features adventure at sea, fortune and big fish stories coming true. Where else can you win $1,000,000 for catching a fish? Yes, last year one angler won $1,320,000! Ocean City, MD.

August 13
Ride to See - A Bicycle Tour of Kent County
Enjoy beautiful vistas, historic homes and many antique and gift shops as you bicycle through Kent County, Maryland. Four routes: 100, 62.5 (100 KM), 30 or 15 miles.

August 18 - 21
Hunters Oak Futures Golf Classic
This tournament, one of three women's professional golf tournaments in the state of Maryland, will host 144 young women from all over the United States and 30 countries competing to win a $65,000 purse. A Pro Am Tournament will also be held on August 18th. Hunters Oak Golf Club, Queenstown, MD.

August 20
Choptank Rivah Run
A fun, open, 2-mile paddling event for children and adults of all ages (under 18 must be with an adult) from Martinak State Park to the Maritine Center Wharf. Any type of paddle craft is eligible for this "Poker Run". Check points will be stationed throughout the course with the top six hands winning prizes. Martinak State Park, Denton, MD.

Booksandcoffee 10K 5K Run/Walk
Part of the 7 Sisters of Dewey Beach Run/Walk Series. Out and back course through residential neighborhoods. Dewey Beach, DE.

Chesapeake Bay Log Canoe Races
Governor Hicks Memorial Regatta has been held by the Cambridge Yacht Club every year since 1935. In the Choptank River off Long Wharf and Cambridge Yacht Club. Cambridge, MD.
