Active sports on the Eastern Shore in May of 2005. Covering the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Virginia, Dover, the Delaware beaches, and Ocean City.

May 1
Ladies Rock Fish Tournament
2nd annual. "Reel Women" raising money for the wetlands. Open to ladies only; men can be captains, mates, or guests at the party afterward. Ladies can fish on their own boat or there are places available on boats donated by the different captains. Lines in at 7 and rockfish must be submitted to weigh in at Harrison's Fishing Center in Tilghman Island before 1:30 pm. There are award categories for individuals as well as teams / boats.

May 5
Mothers Day Women's Golf Tournament
1st Annual Talbot Family Support Center Mother's Day Women's 18-hole Scramble to benefit families and children of Talbot County. Includes: golf with cart, continental breakfast, snacks/beverages on course, lunch, 50/50 raffle, silent auction, tournament gifts and prizes. Registration 8 am, start 9 am. Hog Neck Golf Course, Easton, MD.

May 6
ShoreFest Golf Tournament and Party
Golf begins with a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m. Golfers may enjoy a pre-round buffet lunch served from noon until the starting time. Join the fun at a Cinco de Mayo party at the Club at 6:30 Friday evening (separate tickets from the golf are required). Food, music, and dancing, as well as a live auction, raffle items and door prizes. Eastern Shore Yacht and Country Club, Harborton, VA.

May 7
Rock Hall Yacht Club Laser Regatta
Opening day. Rock Hall, MD.

May 7 - 8
Delaware Cup Youth Soccer Tournament
The Delaware Youth Soccer Association's tournament for recreational teams for both boys and girls. The tournament will be limited to 16 teams in each age group on a first-come, first-serve basis. This tournament is a great opportunity for recreational teams to travel, meet new competition, and broaden their experiences in soccer. Lewes, DE.

May 14
Tour de Talbot Bike Ride
15, 35, or 65 mile bicycle ride through the towns of Easton, Oxford, Royal Oak, St. Michaels and Tilghman Island. Also travel across the Tred Avon River riding aboard the Oxford Ferry. Rest areas will be strategically placed along the course. Take in the beauty of Talbot County; it's fine residences, abundant wildlife and beautiful scenery, while cycling at your own pace. Begins at Idlewilde Park, Easton, MD.
